Earthrise episode 6, Three hundred million years ago, give or take, the Autobots, engaged in a major colonization push, had border skirmishes with the Quintesson Pan Galactic Co-Prosperity Sphere. The Quintesson judges found Optimus innocent, and forced him to duel to the death with Megatron; siphoning energy from the two leaders, they powered a Space Bridge to Cybertron and launched a second invasion force to re-colonize and enslave Cybertron. The Autobots were able to escape, however, and the Sharkticons quickly turned on their cruel masters. A rogue Quintesson scientist abducted three Transformers and a human for behavioral study, a scheme that nearly killed the entire group after they drifted into a black hole. They eventually discovered that Cybertron itself had become non-functional due to civil war and began plotting to retake that world. This moment is clearly influenced by the '80s animated movie where the Quintessons were revealed to be the creators of Autobots and Decepticons. The Alliance, The Quintessons eventually gained the advantage, primarily by the Judge's rage at Megatron's theft of their multiverse escape pod, disabling nearly all enemy combatants. But, to their horror, the Transformers rose up against their masters and drove them away from Cybertron. After the Revolt, when the Quintessons were chased off, the Cybertronian Wars erupted between the Autobots and Decepticons for the control of Cybertron. The Covenant of Primus.
